The Penguins come in tonight playing back-to-back games, however, this one comes after celebrating, not only a 5-1 victory, but goalie Marc-Andre Fleury’s 150th win, making him the 7th youngest goaltender in history to reach that milestone. Hopefully the Thrashers will be able to silence that high early in the game. If Fleury is chosen as starting goalie, he only has two wins now under his belt for the season. Pavelec is going to be the goalie for the Thrashers, now with just his first win from Thursday night.
The Penguins have walked away with 8 out of the last 9 meetings of the two teams and their goal leader remains Crosby with 11 goals so far this season. Evander Kane is not far behind him though with 7 of his own. Both teams are riding on a 1 win streak here, both with 17 points looking to move up with 2 goalies wanting that W.
Jordan Staal is still out with a broken hand for the Pens and hopefully tonight we will get to see Bryan Little on the ice for the first time since his concussion. Chris Thorburn is looking to show Ramsay that he is in it to win it, bringing back his dominance from the start of the season. I am interested to see Bogosian keeping his progress moving forward and continuing to build his strength on the team. Overall I think this will be an interesting and exciting game tonight.
Chick-fil-A ticket night if anyone needs some ideas on what to do!! Tickets still available and the games always look better inside the arena instead of on the sofa! Tonight, Matt Cooke will probably be looking for some redemption after being dropped by Evander in their last meet up. Ironically, in the early years, Marc Savard was #9 for the Atlanta Thrashers as well)
Hopefully, this will cause for numerous penalty minutes for the Penguins. If we can keep a lead on the power plays AND be able to go two games scoring with 5 on 5, I predict we will definitely give the Penguins the fight of their life for this win!
Tonight the Hurricanes play against the Canadians. The Thrashers hold on to a 1 point lead over the Canes, who lost 8-1 on home ice Thursday night. Going into this game, the Hurricanes are looking to turn the leaf quick, but they are going to have to battle the Division leading Canadians who have won their last 2 games. Tomorrow the Thrashers will be in Washington for our third meeting against the Caps. The Washington Capitals are currently leading both in the Division and Conference and lead the league by 2 points over the Kings. They will be playing the Sabres tonight in Ottawa and are currently sitting on a 6 game winning streak. Tampa gets the night off tonight so this is a huge night for us. We have a lot at stake and, as always this season, a ton to prove!
