Saturday night showed that the Thrashers were just as upset as the fans as they held on to defeat the Islanders. Saturday night was Pavelec’s first day off in week’s not only giving Mason the start, but a win as well.
Bryan Little, for the second game in a row, got a goal, this one short handed off the face off. The surprise of the evening was Johnny Oduya with not just his first goal of the season, but 1:18 min later, his SECOND goal of the season. Burmistrov and Anthony Stewart were the other goal scorers for the evening. After this game, we now have ONE 30 game player who has not had his first goal of the season. Greedy, I may be, but I like a well rounded team with everyone registering at least one…
There were a few games that went into overtime last night that were of some importance to our standings. The Bruins walked away with 1 point putting them one point ahead of us. The Tampa Bay Lightning, as well, went into overtime and walked away with the win, putting them at 36 points as well. We are now 1 point behind both teams. The Rangers are playing the Capitals tonight and if the Caps can come back with a win, we will have at least edged past the Rangers this weekend before we hit up Ottawa on Monday.
Rebound for the Thrashers
