There are so many different thoughts running through my mind right now. Unfortunately, the one that keeps repeating the most is the constant footage played of the “Thrash Arrest”…I can say, without a doubt, Harry the Hawk seems to be able to chuck those T-Shirts a LOT higher than Thrash (he even hit the black curtain!) and Freddy the Falcon may possibly be my new favorite Mascot…especially if Thrash stays behind bars.
I can’t believe I went to a Thrashers game and did not hear Thrash’s familiar beating on his drum, didn’t see Thrash silly stringing the opposing team’s fans, and most importantly, didn’t see that big smile cross both of my children’s faces when they caught their first glimpse of their favorite bird…
I can’t believe there were “price tags’ draped across seats.
I can’t believe I carried rain coats and sweat shirts in telling everyone they need to win me a bag in Plunko only to see there wasn’t even a Plunko table set up this time…all that remained of the kid’s area was a lonely face painter painting “Free Thrash” on her poster board…
I can’t believe the Atlanta Spirit had to ‘borrow’ the mascots from our other Atlanta teams just to have a mascot at our game.
I can’t believe that, with less seats filled than I have seen so far this season, there is a request from ‘management’ to sell $670,000 worth of tickets in order to get our mascot back…
I can’t believe our first goal, scored in the second period, was waved off. I CAN believe how loud the fans got (and now understand why bottle caps are not allowed in the venue). And quite honestly, I most definitely CAN believe that Kane turned around and scored another goal just to make sure we still got that goal. I can’t believe how phenomenal our punk control was during so many moments of that game, only to walk away empty handed. I CAN believe we had over 40 shots on goal after that kind of control at times.
I can’t believe Eager came out with so much energy, ready to prove he was in this game to give it his all and win it…and then got his 5 minute major AND a 10 min game misconduct…I still don’t understand this game misconduct, are you not allowed to get up and continue fighting after you touch the ground?
I can’t believe that, by tripping and falling, Eric Boulton got a “goalie interference” penalty.
I can’t believe we lost in a shoot out for the second night in a row.
BLAH
