Jets Call Up Mannino

With Chris Mason’s groin injury, the Jets have a hole at backup. To fill it they have called up Peter Mannino from St. John’s. The former national championship winner at Denver posted a 2.47 GAA and a .902 save percentage thus far in the AHL. He probably won’t play a ton, with the Jets having just two back to backs in November (and the second is Thanksgiving weekend, so I would expect Mason back by then).

The biggest winner in this seems to be Edward Pasquale, who hasn’t gotten to play much at St. John’s, giving up one goal in his only start. I think he and Pavelec could end up being a decent goalie platoon, so hopefully he gets some more playing time.
