Winnipeg Jets Recall Three Players From St. John’s Ice Caps
The Winnipeg Jets recalled a trio of prospects from their AHL affiliate club, the St. John’s Ice Caps, on Sunday: defensemen Ben Chariot and Zach Redmond, as well as goaltender Michael Hutchinson.

Chariot, 22, is a left-handed defenseman that has played all 63 games with the Ice Caps this season, recording 17 points with 85 PIMs and a plus/minus rating of +24. He has played one career game with the Jets, against the Chicago Blackhawks on November 2nd, 2013.
Redmond has appeared in three games with the Jets this season, and this will be his third re-call by the club. In those three games, he was a -2. He also appeared for eight games during the lockout-shortened 2013 season, where he recorded four points. With the Ice Caps, he has 21 points and is a +12 in 37 games this season. He is 25 years old.
Hutchinson was on the Jets’ roster for two weeks prior to Saturday night, when he was re-assigned to the Caps prior to Winnipeg’s game in Los Angeles. However, he did not leave the team, instead watching from the press box. He dressed for six games as the back-up to Al Montoya, during Ondrej Pavelec‘s absence due to injury.
After Pavelec had a less-than-stellar outing in the first period against L.A. on Saturday, the re-call only adds fuel to the rumors that Hutchinson will get a start before season’s end.
With Keaton Ellerby leaving the game against the Kings due to injury, and Zach Bogosian currently day-to-day, it is likely that either Redmond or Chariot will be in the Jets’ lineup when they take on the Anaheim Ducks on Monday. The Jets announced that head coach Paul Maurice will clear the air surrounding these roster moves at their morning skate from the Honda Center tomorrow.
