Winnipeg Jets Recall Forward Carl Klingberg From St. John’s Ice Caps
The Winnipeg Jets made the first of what could turn out to be an avalanche of call-ups in the final week of their season, recalling 23-year old left wing Carl Klingberg from the St. John’s Ice Caps of the AHL.

Klingberg was recalled by the Jets two weeks ago, but was sent back down the next day, in puzzling fashion. He has appeared in 63 games with St. John’s this season, and is seventh in team scoring with 38 points (20 G, 18 A).
Klingberg has seven NHL games under his belt with the Jets franchise (Atlanta/Winnipeg). He was drafted in 2009, 34th overall in the second round.
It is unknown whether Klingberg will be in Winnipeg in time to partake in the Jets’ game against the Minnesota Wild on Monday night.
It appears that Klingberg could be the first of many Ice Caps to make the voyage to Winnipeg in the coming days, with the Jets officially eliminated from the playoffs as of last Thursday. Klingberg joins Ice Caps’ teammates Ben Chiarot, Zach Redmond, Patrice Cormier, Eric O’Dell, and goaltender Michael Hutchinson, who could have his first career NHL start on Monday against the Wild.
