It’s a sad time when the hockey season is over. When your team doesn’t make the playoffs, it’s even worse. The Winnipeg Jets may have had their misery’s this year, but the Jets managed to find some positives along the way.

In the future, Winnipeg ‘s young bucks will be bringing us to the promise land. Jacob Trouba made his mark in the NHL in almost every single game he was in the line up. Mark Scheifele is another player fans beam at when in conversation. Who would testify against Michael Hutchinson on the Jet roster next year? Not I.

Now on to the bad. Devon Setoguchi would be one of the worst pick ups from last year’s off season. Evander Kane who was the only 30 goal scorer in year’s past, had an injury plagued year and never really found his stride again. In net, Ondrej Pavelec‘s numbers fell and he eventually was replaced, hopefully for good.

Our team gave us false hopes when we got out to a 2-0 start early. After dealing with many inconsistencies, Claude Noel was finally fired and a new hope was brought into the organization. No it wasn’t Luke Skywalker, it was Paul Maurice!

I’m finally excited about another Jet’s season. We could have a good coach, something the Jets 2.0 needs for years to come.Blake Wheeler will only continue to get better, i’m predicting two 30 goal scorers next season. With a confident coach and a new goalie, the Jets could be a new team.

My time at Hockey at the Forks has been great! I’ve gotten to grow as a writer and I enjoy doing it more and more every story. Sports blogs may be the future of the news world as more and more people are coming on-line to get their daily fix of news/sports. However, I’m not done writing for the Winnipeg Jets. Once again, I thank Fansided, Hockey at the Forks and Skylar Peters.
