During last night’s loss to the Florida Panthers, defenseman Tyler Myers left the game due to an upper-body injury. At the moment, it can be assumed he is day-to-day with the injury.

Myers has played well for the Jets since coming over in last month’s blockbuster trade with the Buffalo Sabres, which was headlined by forward Evander Kane. Over the past 10 games, the Houston, TX native has 2 goals and 5 assists.

If Myers is forced to miss Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, expect Anthony Peluso or Jay Harrison to see an increase in playing time.

The extra ice time could also go to Keaton Ellerby, who was called up by the Jets earlier today from AHL St. John’s. The former Panther and King played in 51 games a year ago for Winnipeg, but has not dressed for them yet this year.

With Tyler Myers going down, how much trouble do you feel the Jets are in?
