The Winnipeg Jets have pulled it off again. They defeated the Washington Capitals 3-0 behind goals from Mark Scheifele, Mark Stuart and Adam Lowry.

However, the real star of this game was Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec. In his 4th consecutive start, he shut out the Capitals by stopping 28 shots. So much for being thought as the odd man out in Winnipeg, right? As long as Ondrej Pavelec can keep up a pace close to this, the Jets should be able to secure their playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The other bright spot in this game was RW Drew Stafford. With 2 more assists, he extended his points streak to 5 games. The former Sabre has 3 goals and 4 assists during that time.

On the other hand, the Capitals could not stop the Jets. While Holtby played a decent game (the third goal was am empty net shot), the Jets scored on him each time at full-strength. Those goals were from Stuart in the 1st period and Scheifele in the 2nd.

Following this game, the Jets will be traveling to Edmonton to take on the Oilers on Monday night at 8:30 PM CT. The Capitals do not play until next Thursday against the New Jersey Devils at home.
