The Winnipeg Jets will be riding their 4-game winning streak into Edmonton to take on one of the league’s worst. Behind the great play of goalie Ondrej Pavelec, the Jets seem to have an extra boost behind them that’s keeping the team in the last wild card spot. Over this streak, Pavelec has only allowed 4 goals on 113 saves. The last game he played in was a shutout as well against the high-powered Washington Capitals attack.

The Jets have also been riding the hot play of Blake Wheeler and Drew Stafford. The two have combined for 13 points over the past 5 games. They have really stepped up with C Bryan Little and RW/D Dustin Byfuglien out of the lineup. There is no word yet if those two will be out of the lineup again, but that is the expectation.

The Oilers are coming off a win in their last game, but they are just looking for this season to end. They are headed towards yet another bottom-5 finish, despite having so many top picks on this team. The system there just hasn’t worked with so many talented young players like Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, etc. They all have had their bright spots, but this team is a long way away from contending in the Western Conference.

Speaking of Hall, this will be his second game back from injury. He had been out since February 2 with an ankle injury. The former #1 overall pick recorded an assist in his first game back.
