Talk about perfect timing for a hot streak, right?

The Winnipeg Jets have won their 5th straight game with a dominating 4-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

Drew Stafford, who has had the hot stick as of late, scored mid-way through the first period. From there, the Jets did not look back. They scored two more goals in the 2nd period and one more in the third.

The superstar from the game, yet again, was Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec. He only allowed 1 goal on 35 total shots. For a guy who’s roster spot was likely in question for next season, Pavelec has certainly delivered in a huge way. He has a hold on the starting job that backup Michael Hutchison cannot touch at the moment.

On the other hand, the Oilers continued their losing ways. Ben Scrivens allowed 4 goals on 28 shots and did not receive much support from his offense. The only tally of the game for them was from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who scored a little over a minute into the third period. Other than that, there isn’t anything to note of from the Oilers for this game.

Now at 88 points and continuing to hold onto a wild card spot, the Jets will head to Vancouver on Tuesday night.
