Top Winnipeg Jets prospect Nikolaj Ehlers has had a phenomenal season for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL. As a reward for his play, Ehlers has been nominated for the league’s MVP for the 2014-15 season.

Ehlers, 19, is just a point below averaging 2 per game. He has 37 goals and 64 assists through just 51 games. Add in a 26 +/- as well. Last season, Ehlers had 49 goals and 55 assists in 63 games.

With the season wrapping up, he now has the QMJHL playoffs to leave a lasting mark on the league.

The Danish winger was just picked by the Jets 9th overall in the 2014 NHL Draft. The results have certainly been great for the organization thus far. He should see a spot in the AHL next year, as he has nothing left to prove in juniors. After that, Ehlers should have a spot in the Jets’ lineup for years to come.
