D Josh Morrissey has been solid since being drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in 2013. Last season, he totaled 73 points in 59 games for the Prince Albert Raiders of the WHL. This season, however, the point production has tailed off. The Calgary product has 38 points over 47 games between two WHL teams.
The hype and excitement are still there for Morrissey, who has a bright future with the Jets. The organization hopes to add him to an already solid blue-line with Jacob Trouba, Tobias Enstrom and Dustin Byfuglien. Possibly having his phenomenal passing and sound defensive work on the roster by as soon as next season would be interesting. However, it seems like Morrissey could use some time in the AHL before heading to the pros.
Josh Morrissey projects as a top-4 defenseman who should be able to crack top pairing status. Either way, he seems set to have a productive career in the NHL.
