Even though the Winnipeg Jets recently were on a 5-game winning streak, they missed the presence of Dustin Byfuglien on the defensive end. He contributed 15 goals, 27 assists and 195 hits prior to today’s game.

In his return to the lineup tonight, Byfuglien scored the first goal of the game 12:33 into the 1st period. His goal was the first of 5 for Winnipeg, as they secured the victory 5-2. Among the other goal scorers were Adam Lowry, Mark Scheifele, Jim Slater and Blake Wheeler. He also contributed 2 hits and had a 1 +/- in this one.

While Byfuglien played on the 3rd defensive pairing tonight with Adam Pardy, expect him to (possibly) slowly return to the top pairing with increased minutes (he played 18:29 tonight).
