Winnipeg Jets Profile: Bryan Little

A week ago we did a player profile on Tyler Myers so I thought it would be a nice idea to profile some of the other Winnipeg Jets players. Today we are going to focus on Winnipeg Center Bryan Little. What has Bryan Little done for the Jets in his time with them? What can we expect him to bring to Winnipeg this season?

Bryan Little has been with the Winnipeg Jets since their time as the Atlanta Thrashers. Little was drafted 12th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by Atlanta and has been with the organization ever since. Little would not play with the Jets until the 2007-2008 season where he would post your casual rookie numbers going 6-10-16 in 48 games played.

Little’s breakout season would occur in the year following his rookie campaign where he would score over 31 goals and tally 20 assists in 79 games played. Over the course of his final two seasons in Atlanta he would go 28-51 for a total of 79 points (11 more then in his first two seasons with the Thrashers).

Little’s first two seasons with the Winnipeg Jets following the move from Atlanta were very closely related to the stats he posted in his time with the Thrashers. In his first two seasons he would go 31-47 for a total of 78 points (1 less then his final two seasons in Atlanta). Little’s best season would come during the 2013-2014 campaign.

During the 2013-2014 season we would see Bryan Little have the best year of his young career. Little would play in all 82 games with the Jets and go 23-41-64 in what was his most explosive season. During the past year he would also post some very solid statistics going 24-28-52, in fact in his last two seasons with the Jets he would go 47-69 for a total of 116 points. It is good to know that Little’s best time of his career is actually right now for his last two seasons with the Jets are the two best seasons of his career in the NHL.

With the talent surrounding the Jets plus the fact they are coming off their first post season run since they returned to Winnipeg one would assume that Bryan Little may be positioned for the best season of his career. Little has never really had strong teams surrounding him in Atlanta or in Winnipeg, but it is safe to assume that this 2015-2016 Jets team may in fact be the best club he has played with. Knowing the havoc that Little has brought upon the NHL in the last two seasons and the extreme optimism in Winnipeg for the upcoming year we might just see Bryan Little be atop the Jets club come the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

What do you guys think? Is Bryan Little poised for his best season in the NHL? Or is he poised for bust this upcoming season? Comment below and join in on the discussion!
