First off we have a few articles from yours truly (Andrei Lutz) regarding the expectations for the Jets goaltenders this upcoming season. First up we have the expectations for Ondrej Pavelec,

“I don’t need to talk about Pavelec’s stats from last year’s regular season, as I have talked about them a lot and they don’t really mean anything heading into the upcoming season. The stat that does mean something is Pavelec’s horrible postseason performance from last year with his 3.73 GAA, 0-4 record, and .891 save percentage. I hate to be the one to say (who am I kidding I love to say it!) but this will simply not suffice this season.” -Andrei Lutz

Secondly, we have the expectations for Michael Hutchinson,

“The clock is ticking for Ondrej Pavelec. Time is running out for Pavelec to keep hold of his net, he has not done as much as should be expected of a starting goaltender for several years, and Michael Hutchinson’s career is look awfully promising.” -Andrei Lutz

Fellow Editor here at Hockey at the Forks in Brendan Macgranachan posted an excellent article this week about Nikolaj Ehlers playing professionally for this Jets,

Nikolaj Ehlers’ final game at the Young Stars Classic over the weekend certainly won’t hurt his chances of making the Winnipeg Jets. As a 19-year-old, Ehlers options appeared to be make the Jets or be returned to junior hockey. But to borrow a line from Lee Corso, not so fast my friend.” -Brendan Macgranachan
