Tonight, the Winnipeg Jets will face the Nashville Predators in yet another Central Division matchup.

Nashville will have home ice advantage going into tonight against Winnipeg. The Jets are .500 on the road, as opposed to Nashville being 11-2-2 at home. The Jets have gone 4-4-2 in their last ten games. We’ve been slowing down, and it’s time to pick up the pace again.

Starting goalies

In the crease tonight, we expect to see young star, Connor Hellebuyck. Hellebuyck has an outstanding record of 17-4-4. He has a GAA of 2.45, and a .920 save percentage. He’s also recorded two shutouts this season, one of which was in our last game vs St. Louis. Hellebuyck has been on fire this season for the Winnipeg Jets, and he’s proving himself as the bona fide number one goalie.

On the flip side, Nashville will likely start Pekka Rinne. Rinne is 18-4-3. His GAA is 2.25, and his save percentage is .930.

Projections and players to watch

My prediction for tonight is that it’ll go down to the last few minutes, or even overtime in a hard fought game. We need to pull through with a win to stay within only one point. We definitely would like to get the win in regulation to keep Nashville’s point total closer to ours.

A player to keep an eye on with the Jets tonight will be Mark Scheifele. Scheifele has had a very slow past seven games, only recording two points. Tonight, hopefully he’ll be able to get out of his little slump with a point or even a couple. Filip Forsberg will be another player to look out for tonight. He has been fantastic at home, with at least a point in every game played at the Bridgestone Arena.

Winnipeg is currently sitting 3rd in the Central Division. Nashville is tied for 1st in the Central. However, Nashville has 3 games in hand on St. Louis who they’re tied with. A win tonight for the Jets would put them only one point back of both the Preds and Blues.
