Inconsistent Winnipeg Jets take on .500 Oilers
Tonight’s game should be a good one. We will be viewing a Laine Vs. Puljujarvi Finnish duel, which will make for some great hockey!
The Winnipeg Jets have been extremely inconsistent lately, and will look to get back on track with a home win against Edmonton. We have lost our last two games, and this will be the first game back since the Christmas break. The Oilers will look to extend their current winning streak to five in a row. The are slowly getting back where they should have been all along.
For the Jets, Tobias Enstrom and Dustin Byfuglien once again will be absent from the lineup. They are still injured and hopefully will make a return soon. The Oilers are also a player tonight. They will be missing defenseman Oscar Klefbom. Connor McDavid is also injured, but likely will be in today.
Starting Goalies
The Winnipeg Jets are expected to be starting the spectacular Connor Hellebuyck against Edmonton’s Cam Talbot.
Hellebuyck has been 5-2-3 in his past ten games, which isn’t bad, but can be improved. He is sitting on a .920 save percentage, along with a 2.44 GAA. Hellebuyck’s last start was a quite a while ago, on December 21st.
Cam Talbot hasn’t been quite as good statistically speaking this season. He has a GAA of 2.84, which is 0.4 higher than Connor Hellebuyck. He also has an under average save percentage of .908. Aside from those stats, Talbot has won seven games in a row, and will look to keep his, and the Oiler’s streaks alive.
Jets Lineup
For tonight’s matchup, our lineup will look like this:
Forwards
Connor – Scheifele – Wheeler
Ehlers – Little – Laine
Copp – Lowry – Tanev
Perreault – Hendricks – Armia
Defence
Morrissey – Trouba
Kulikov – Myers
Chiarot – Poolman

Final Thoughts
A Jets win and a Predators loss tonight would put the Jets up to second place in the Central Division. Although the Preds still would have two games in hand, it would be huge for us. I think we have a good chance to end Edmonton and Talbot’s streaks as long as we play our game.
