What calling up Jack Roslovic means for the Winnipeg Jets
The Winnipeg Jets just announced that they placed Brandon Tanev on injured reserve. He is out “week to week”. The Jets finally made the move we’ve all been waiting for, they recalled Jack Roslovic.
The Winnipeg Jets will be throwing Roslovic in the lineup now that he’s up in Winnipeg. Marko Dano can kiss his chances of playing goodbye. The only way he’s getting back into action is if we continue getting injured.

What we can expect from Roslovic
Jack Roslovic’s expectations can only be decided based on his playing time. If he becomes a fourth liner, we shouldn’t be disappointed at his likely lack of points. He won’t be playing with overly productive players. Also on the flip side, don’t be surprised if he does well with Matt Hendricks, because he’s been fairly successful this season. Hendricks would have to go to the wing, but that shouldn’t be an issue.
If the Jets place Roslovic on the third line, either of Armia or Copp would go down to the fourth line. Lowry definitely will be staying on the 3rd line, unless he moves up. For Roslovic to play on the 3rd line, he would play as a winger. Playing with guys like Lowry and Armia could give him success, and more importantly, confidence. I don’t want to see him playing minimal minutes on the 4th line when he could be putting up decent results with good players.
Expect him to be pushed around
You must remember, Roslovic is still a young guy, and you should expect him to be pushed around. He’s still a “kid” and will be facing off against men. He’s clearly a talented player, but he will be manhandled a bit. It’ll eventually happen less as he gains more experience. Now it’s time for us to sit back and see what he can bring to the table.
