Possible Results of Marko Dano’s Big Return for the Winnipeg Jets

EDMONTON, AB - DECEMBER 31: Marko Dano
EDMONTON, AB - DECEMBER 31: Marko Dano

We thought Marko Dano was done. We thought the Winnipeg Jets had given up on him. When we lost all hope, he returned with a spectacular statement. Marko Dano scored in the first four minutes of the game vs. Edmonton. This was his first game in months.

Well isn’t it glorious when a player proves everyone wrong. Marko Dano was sure able to do that. On his first shift back, Dano was able to put home a goal. This goal is huge for Dano, and will get the Jets to continue playing him over Roslovic, or someone else.

Did the goal save his career in Winnipeg?

I can’t say this goal will save his entire career here in Winnipeg, as he does have a lot to still make up for. What this goal does for him, is it extends his time, and takes the heat and pressure off him just a little bit. I still believe Dano will be back where he started once players return unless he can put up a few spectacular performances that dazzle the Winnipeg Jets coaching staff and management.

Don’t overrate this one goal, or expect too many more

Sure it’s amazing that Dano scored a goal in his first game back in months, but we shouldn’t raise expectations. Dano may not score again, and you can’t get mad, because he really should be in the AHL. We should just remember, this is only one goal. Almost every NHL players scores, so we can’t think that this will be the goal that saves Marko Dano.

Marko Dano still has a lot to prove to the Jets. I really hope he begins to blossom into a better player, but you never know what will happen. For now, Dano has extended his playing time, and we will wait to see whether he can continue, or if it was just a fluke.
