The Winnipeg Jets finally pulled through to make a big swap. We will be getting Paul Stastny from the Blues. Are we done trading?

Kevin Cheveldayoff made a big move, acquiring the third line center we needed in Paul Stastny. Stastny has 12 goals and 28 assists so far this season in 63 games. That’s solid, especially considering he’s our third line centerman. We’re now a dangerously deep team, which is nice going into playoffs soon.

If you have seen, Stastny is being paid $7 Million, but the Blues retained an entire 50% of it. We have enough cap, that’s not the issue. This could mean a few things. First, we simply may not want to pay that much money. The second possibility is that we’re not done trading. If they retained that much cap, I feel like the Winnipeg Jets are still wheeling and dealing.

Who’s still available that needs to go?

Erik Karlsson

Erik Karlsson is the best defenseman on the market this year, and maybe ever at deadline day. He hasn’t been swapped yet, and I still think it’s a possibility. Karlsson has a substantial value, and would cost a fortune, but definitely could pay off.

Just today, Tobias Enstrom was helped off the ice for an unknown injury. This is perfect timing to need Erik Karlsson. He’s one of the NHL’s best and would make a bang in Winnipeg.

Patrik Maroon

The Winnipeg Jets have shown interest in Patrik Maroon, and he may make sense too. With him, we’d be 100% deadly and I think would have a great chance at the Stanley Cup. He’s a winger, so the Winnipeg Jets don’t have to cross him off their list like just about every available center.

Maroon is a big guy and fits in with us perfectly. I still think a deal for him is a possibility.

Max Domi

Domi is a young player who hasn’t yet lived up to his potential. He’s on Arizona, so that can’t help out too much. In my opinion, Domi and Arizona should part ways. It’ll either be this season or in the offseason.

Domi isn’t worth as much as he once was, so we don’t need to worry about price.

Will something happen?

There’s still time, and I definitely agree that something else will happen too. The Winnipeg Jets are going all in, so why not go even harder?
