Well, it’s almost over friends. We did it. We got through the off-season, and now the real work begins. But the real fun begins, too, so we’re happy.
Just for you, our Winnipeg Jets staff here at Jets White Out decided to do some staff predictions for the upcoming season.
Keep in mind, it’s my first go round with this, so things might be a bit clunky. Five years from now, you won’t even remember it. Well, you’ll remember how right I was. But that’s about it. Not the clunky part.
Adam Helsel and Jen Meixner are joining me in taking some horribly educated guesses at who might win these things. Let’s do it. One point per vote. If you wanna know who voted for what, @ us on Twitter.
Hart Trophy – Connor McDavid, 2pts, John Tavares, 1pt.
Lady Byng – Ryan O’Reilly, 1pt, Blake Wheeler, 1pt, Anze Kopitar, 1pt
Vezina – Sergei Bobrovsky, 1pt, Connor Hellebuyck, 1pt, Andrei Vasilevskiy, 1pt

Prince of Wales Trophy – Tampa Bay Lightning, 2pts, Toronto Maple Leafs, 1pt

Some other fun notes from our prediction sitdown are that Adam had the Calgary Flames making the playoffs, which I thought was fun. I also had the Rangers making the playoffs. Which I’m joking about.
Man that team is bad. But they do have a great goalie and a new coach. Maybe I’m not joking. The Metro is kinda weak nowadays. It’s not the Atlantic, but still.
Next year around, we’re going to have these predictions done right and in full. I kinda like it this way.
We’ll do this same style for award winners at, oh, I’ll say probably the half way point and then again at the end of the regular season.
Thanks for watching.
