Winnipeg Jets: Evander Returns For Revenge With Buff Possibly In Sight
Tonight should be an interesting matchup between the Winnipeg Jets and the San Jose Sharks, featuring another return to Winnipeg for Evander Kane.
It’s that time of year again for Evander Kane, the time where he has to head up north to a familiar city in which he doesn’t exactly have the best reputation. This year’s trade deadline marks the fourth year since Kevin Cheveldayoff completed the swap which sent Evander Kane over to the Buffalo Sabres with Jason Kasdorf and Zach Bogosian in exchange for Tyler Myers, Joel Armia, Drew Stafford, Brendan Lemieux, and the first round pick which we used to select Jack Roslovic.
Kane never really fit into the Jets dressing room in his stay here. From my point of view, it seemed like he was always causing trouble and wasn’t very likeable. In fact, it seemed like the only other guy who could seem to keep him in check was Chris Thorburn, one of our old fan favourite tough guys.
The final point for the Winnipeg Jets to realize a trade needed to take place was when Evander rolled in late to a team meeting in a track suit, not even in the required dress suit. Byfuglien wasn’t a fan of the antics, taking matters into his own hands by tossing his track suit into the team showers.
Anyways, don’t expect the Winnipeg Jets to be easy on Kane. In fact, they’ll be giving him a tough time, sticking him, spearing him, and whatnot.
The fans won’t let up tonight either. Expect the boos to rain down on him, as he wasn’t exactly the most liked guy by the crowd.
Some bad news for Kane is that there’s a possibility Big Buff could return to the lineup tonight as well. Just a possibility though.
