The Winnipeg Jets’ first round selection, Cole Perfetti has been called up for Hockey Canada’ s Selection Camp for the upcoming World Junior Championship.
Winnipeg Jets prospect and the 10th overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Cole Perfetti, will be headed to Red Deer next month to take part in Hockey Canada’s selection camp for 2021 World Junior Championship.
Perfetti was one of 46 names that were chosen to participate in the 28 day camp, which begins on November 16th. Perfetti will look to impress Team Canada head coach André Tourigny and assistant coaches, Michael Dyck and Mitch Love.
The eighteen year old from Whitby, Ontario is coming of a great season playing for the Saginaw Spirit in the Ontario Hockey League. In 61 games Perfetti had 37 goals, 74 assists, 111 points and a +49 plus/minus. He finished second in the league in both points and assists and was awarded the Bobby Smith Trophy as the OHL Scholastic Player of the Year. This award is given to a player “who best combines high standards of play and academic excellence.”
Also during the 2019-2020 season, Perfetti represented Canada at the Under-18 level in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. En route to a silver medal, Perfetti has eight goals and four assists in five games.
These outstanding performances led to the Jets selecting Perfetti 10th overall in the most recent draft. He is an extremely fun player to watch and keeps fans on the edge of their seats when they watch him play. Here are some of his best plays:
It will only be a matter of time before Perfetti is sporting the Jets’ sweater and playing for the Jets in the NHL. It will be fun to watch his rise to the top level of hockey.
It will be interesting to keep a close eye on Perfetti’s progress over the camp and hopefully he performs well enough to make the team.
