As the NHL season draws near, we predict on what place the Winnipeg Jets will finish the 2021 regular season in an All-Canada Division.

January 13 is the date all NHL fans have heard. That is the date that the first puck is supposed to drop for the 2021 NHL season and the Winnipeg Jets will start their quest for the Stanley Cup.

As we move closer to that date, there is still an uncertain regarding how the season will run including the schedule and the divisions. Will all this uncertainty one things looks clear, it looks like the Winnipeg Jets will be competing in a division only compromised of Canadian teams.

The NHL looks forced to put all the Canadian franchises together in one division due to the pandemic and the travel restrictions that are attached to it. This will allow the teams “north of the border” to play at home rather than play their whole season in the United States.

That means the Jets may play their entire shortened schedule (could be 52 or 56 games) against the same six teams. This schedule will force rivalries and should be extremely fun to watch, but the question is: What place will we see the Jets in at the end of the 2021 campaign?

An early prediction is third or fourth place. In 2019-2020, the Jets had the fifth best point percentage out of the seven Canadian teams. They finished within .02 percentage points behind the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks.

Even though the Jets posted the fifth best record of the Canadian franchises last season, the Jets dominated their Canadian opponents in regular season play. Last year, the Jets finished with a record of 10-2-0 when matching up against Canadian opponents.

That is an outstanding record against quality opponents that the Jets will look to build on when the puck drops next month.

With the Jets outstanding record against franchises from Canada last season and with some quality free agent signings, I predict the Jets will finished in third or fourth place when the upcoming season concludes.
