Winnipeg Jets: Watch all 3 Jets Prospects at World Juniors in Action Today
The three Winnipeg Jets prospects that are representing their respective countries at the IIHF World Junior Championship will be playing today.
On day three of the 2021 World Juniors, we will get to see three games and the Winnipeg Jets have a major interest in two of these games. The first two matchups of the day feature Winnipeg Jets’ top-rated prospects. Ville Heinola and Henri Nikkanen of Finland will be competing in game one and Cole Perfetti of Canada will be back in action in game two.
The first game of the day, which is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Central Time, features Ville Heinola, Henri Nikkanen, and Finland against Switzerland. Finland is coming into this game after performing well in their first game of the competition against Germany.
Nikkanen impressed many in his WJC debut he scored a goal and had an assist, while Heinola had one assist and led all skaters in the contest with seven shots on net in their 5-3 win over Germany.
Switzerland lost a tightly contested battle in the first game of the tournament to Slovakia. Slovakia scored the first goal in the game with just under six minutes remaining in the contest and shut Switzerland down to get the shutout and the 1-0 win.

In last year’s edition of the tournament, Switzerland upset Finland in the preliminary round which then subsequently gave Finland a nearly impossible task to the Gold Medal game. Finland knows how important this game is in the long run of the tournament, while Switerzland is trying to win their first game of the young competition. This should be a fun one to watch!
In the second game of today, we will see Cole Perfetti and Canada face off against Slovakia at 5:00 p.m. CST. This will be Canada’s second game of a back-to-back in which they absolutely destroyed Germany 16-2 last night.
In total, only three skaters on Canada did not register a point against Germany. Perfetti played well and showed off his great vision in the win.
Perfetti finished the game with three assists and five shots on net. He will be looking for a repeat performance this evening against Slovakia who is 1-0-0-0 and should pose a bigger threat to Canada than Germany did.
The Winnipeg Jets have no direct interest in the final game of today’s treble. That game features the Czech Republic vs Russia and puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CST. The Jets may have scouts keeping a close eye on this game because the Czech Republic’s roster is loaded with players who are eligible for the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. There is a chance that one or more players in this game can become part of the Jets organization in the near future.
Where to Catch the Games
All of these games can be seen on TSN1, TSN4, and TSN5 in Canada. If you are watching from the United States these games will be on the NHL Network.
