The 2021 season is less than two weeks away and the Winnipeg Jets are finally back on the ice for their first practice of training camp.

Today is a day that will get most hockey fans excited for the upcoming season. Most teams that participated in the 2020 NHL postseason have hit the ice for their first team practice today, while teams that did make the postseason started their camps on New Year’s Eve. The Winnipeg Jets are one of those teams and their training camp started today.

The Jets training camp runs from today through Wednesday, January 13. On January 14, the Jets faceoff against the Calgary Flames in their first game of the 2021 campaign.

The full schedule of the Jets camp can be found here. Every day, besides January 6, the Jets will have two practice sessions, one from 7:30-8:45 a.m. and the other from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. followed by Media Interviews.

The Jets will have a different schedule on Wednesday. The Jets will have a practice followed by their first and only scheduled scrimmage of the week and a half camp.

When the Jets training camp roster was released, it seemed that there would be a great amount of competition for roster spots. As of right now, it looks like the Jets’ top-six forwards and top-three defensemen look set, but after that, the rest of the depth chart looks up in the air.

Only time will tell over the next week, how the Jets roster and lines will look for the start of the season. Today is an extremely exciting day around the Winnipeg Jets franchise and it will be interesting to see what transpires over training camp.
