The Winnipeg Jets did not have their game last night in Toronto. The Jets looked flat in their 3-1 loss to the Maple Leafs and got dominated in the second period, getting outshot six to twenty-two in that frame.

The positive note for the Jets in last night’s game was they kept the scoreline close and were within striking distance of tieing the game up for most of it. The Jets had a couple of great opportunities to even the scoreline, but they could not find the back of the net.

As always Connor Hellebuyck played well, stopping 35 of 37 shots against, and gave the Jets a great chance of getting something out of the game.

The great news for the Winnipeg Jets is today is a new opportunity to forget about last night and pick up two points against the Ottawa Senators.

There is nothing better for a sports team to go out less than 24 hours after they suffered a tough defeat and right their wrongs from the day before.

The Jets have a wonderful opportunity to do that tonight in Ottawa against a Senators team who have not played since Saturday night.

Although the Jets will still be without two of their top defensemen, Dylan DeMelo and Tucker Poolman, there Jets still have a solid squad that can avenge last night’s loss.

Look for Winnipeg to come out with high intensity from the opening puck drop and impose their game on a young Senators roster. This is a perfect matchup for the Jets to get back to their gameplan and the way they performed in the later stages of their opening game against Calgary.
