The Winnipeg Jets are back in action tonight and are facing the Ottawa Senators for their second straight game. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Central Time.
Last game between the sides was extremely fun to watch. Winnipeg was trailing 3-1 in the middle of the second period and then the Jets scored a goal with less than four minutes remaining in the second to put them within one.
Winnipeg finally found their equalizing goal in the final minutes of the game with their goaltender pulled. Nikolaj Ehlers capped the comeback in overtime with a fantastic goal to give the Jets the 4-3 victory.
The Winnipeg Jets can make their first road trip of the 2021 season an extremely successful one with a win tonight against the Senators.
Tonight’s game will be game two of a three game set for the Jets against Ottawa and it is the last game for the Jets on their first road trip of the new season. So far the Jets are 1-1-0 on this road trip and have a glorious opportunity to return home with four of six available points.
The Action Network have listed the Jets as the favorites in this evening’s contest in the Canadian capital city.
Some say that after winning the first game of a back-to-back against the same opponents, the second game is always tougher to win. With that being said, tonight is expected to be a tough game for the Jets, as the Senators look to avenge their last loss to the Jets.

Projected Lineups
Paul Maurice decided not to switch up the skaters going into their second game in consecutive nights on Tuesday and, in the long run, his lineup decision payed off with the Jets winning the second game.
The only change Maurice made was in net. On Tuesday evening, Maurice gave Connor Hellebuyck the net off and Laurent Brossoit started his first game of the season. Brossoit played well and was rewarded with the win.
Unless Patrik Laine is available tonight, which it looks like he will probably not be, it is projected that the Jets will keep the same forwards as Monday and Tuesday. We may see a few tweaks to the line combinations, but the skaters should stay the same.
There is a chance we could see a change on the Jets defense. Sami Niku may come out of the lineup after taking two penalties on Tuesday and he may be replaced by Ville Heinola, who would be making his first start of the season.
Hellebuyck is projected to come back in and get the start in goal as the Jets look to win both games in Ottawa.
The Jets are projected to lineup like this:
Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Copp-Stastny-Laine
Harkins-Lowry-Appleton
Perreault-Thompson-Lewis
Morrissey-Heinola
Forbort-Pionk
Beaulieu-Stanley
Hellebuyck (Brossoit)
Just like the Jets, Ottawa is not expected to make any major changes to their lineup that played in the opening game of this series on Tuesday night.
It looks like Tim Stützle may still be out of the lineup tonight, as head coach D.J. Smith called the rookie sensation doubtful to play.
The one change the Senators are projected to make is on their fourth line. Artem Anisimov looks set to be replaced by Colin White. White practiced with the fourth line yesterday, while Anisimov featured with the extras. The former 2015 first round draft choice, White, has appeared in one game so far this season and has one assist.
Matt Murray is projected to be the starting goalie for Ottawa. Murray has started all three games for the Senators at the beginning of the season and has posted a 3.30 goals against average and a .890 save percentage.
The Senators are expected to lineup like this:
Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson
Galchenyuk-Stepan-Dadonov
Paul-Tierney-(C)Brown
Paquette-White-Watson
Chabot-Zaitsev
Reilly-Gudbranson
Coburn-(J)Brown
Murray (Hogberg)
