The Winnipeg Jets are back in action tonight in their second game in two days against the Calgary Flames. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. central time at Bell MTS Place.

The  Jets come into tonight’s game after squandering their two-goal first period lead against the Flames. Fortunately, after the Flames took a 3-2 lead in the third, the Jets battled back to tie the game and force the game to overtime.

Neither team could find the back of the net in overtime and the game was forced to be decided by a shootout. Johnny Gaudreau won the shootout in the fourth round to give the Flames a 4-3 win.

The Winnipeg Jets look to end their two-game losing streak tonight

Tonight is the second game of four between the Jets and Flames and is the sixth game of the Jets’ current seven-game homestand, in which they have a 2-2-1 record. The Jets are currently on their longest losing run of the season, where they have lost two straight.

Odds

The Action network lists the Jets as the underdogs in tonight’s matchup.

The Jets and Flames have played twice this year and both games had to be decided after regulation. Expect tonight to be another close encounter. This game should be like the rest between these sides: fast, hard-hitting, and close till the end.

Projected Lineups

. Winnipeg Jets. 4. team. 107. . 5-3-1

We could see the Winnipeg Jets make a couple of lineup changes. The first projected change is expected to come on the Jets’ fourth line. David Gustafsson is projected to replace Kristian Vesalainen.

Winnipeg is not expected to make any changes to their defense, but Tucker Poolman looks close to returning to action and he could feature in the lineup soon.

Laurent Brossoit is projected to get the start tonight after Connor Hellebuyck started in yesterday’s contest.

The Jets are projected to lineup like this:

Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Copp-Stastny-Ehlers
Perreault-Lowry-Appleton
Harkins-Gustafsson-Lewis

Morrissey-DeMelo
Forbort-Pionk
Beaulieu-Stanley

Brossoit (Hellebuyck)

Calgary Flames. 6. team. 112. . 4-3-1.

Just like the Jets, the Flames are not projected to make many changes tonight. There is a chance that offseason free agent signing, Dominik Simon could return to the lineup after being scratched last night.

The only other change that Calgary is expected to make is David Rittich is projected to start this evening. Tonight is the first time the Flames have had games on back-to-back days and it is projected they will give Markstrom the night off after he started and got the win yesterday.

The Flames are expected to lineup like this:

Tkachuk-Lindholm-Dube
Gaudreau-Monahan-Mangiapane
Bennett-Backlund-Leivo
Lucic-Ryan-Nordstrom

Giordano-Andersson
Hanifin-Tanev
Valimaki-Nesterov

Rittich (Markstrom)
