The Winnipeg Jets are back on home-ice for the first time since March 2, as they take on the Montreal Canadiens. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. central time. This is the first of two games between the Jets and Canadiens.

The Jets are coming into this game after being on the road for their last five contests. They finished the road trip on Saturday night with a 5-2 win over the first placed Toronto Maple Leafs.

On the other hand, the Canadiens come into tonight in the midst of a six-game road trip. They have a 1-2-1 record during this trip and have dropped their last two outings, both against the Calgary Flames.

The Winnipeg Jets can find themselves two points behind first place with a win against the Canadiens tonight

The Jets have a great opportunity this week. Since the Leafs are off till Friday, with a two-game sweep over Montreal, the Jets will be in a tie for first on Thursday.

Odds

The Action network lists the Jets as the underdogs in tonight’s matchup.

The Jets will definitely be looking for revenge against Montreal tonight. The last time these teams met was on March 6, in Montreal, and the Canadiens skated to a 7-1 win over the Jets.

With first place in sight and considering how the Jets fared the last time they matched up against each other, expect the Jets to come out playing fast and physical.

Projected Lineups

Winnipeg is not projected to make any changes to their forwards and defense for tonight’s game considering their performance on Saturday.

The one change the Jets may make is in net. Connor Hellebuyck is projected to start after Laurent Brossoit started and got the win Saturday evening in Toronto.

The Jets are projected to lineup like this:

Stastny-Scheifele-Wheeler
Connor-Dubois-Ehlers
Copp-Lowry-Appleton
Perreault-Thompson-Lewis

Morrissey-Poolman
Forbort-Pionk
Stanley-DeMelo

Hellebuyck (Brossoit)

We could see the Canadiens make a couple of changes, tonight considering they have lost their last two.

One change we could see is Jake Evans coming in for Arrturi Lehkonen. Lehkonen had the least amount of time for any of the Montreal forwards in their last game.

The Canadiens will still be without Ben Chiarot. Chiarot broke his hand last week and is visiting a doctor today.

Carey Price is expected to get the start this evening. This season he has a 8-5-4 record with a 2.62 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.

The Canadiens are expected to lineup like this:

Drouin-Suzuki-Anderson
Toffoli-Kotkaniemi-Gallagher
Tatar-Danault-Armia
Byron-Evans-Perry

Edmundson-Petry
Romanov-Weber
Kulak-Mete

Price (Allen)
