The Winnipeg Jets take on the Montreal Canadiens tonight in the second game of a two-game set between the sides. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. central.

The Jets looked sloppy in Monday’s game between these sides. Ultimately, Montreal capitalized on two bad turnovers by the Jets en route to a 4-2 victory.

The Winnipeg Jets are looking for a win against the Montreal Canadiens before hitting the road for a long road trip

After tonight, the Jets will be on the road for their next seven games. Their first game of that trip is tomorrow in Edmonton against the Oilers.

After Winnipeg plays a total of two games against the Oilers, they will head to Vancouver for two games and then will finish the trip with a three-game series in Calgary.

The next time we will see the Jets on home-ice after tonight’s game is on March 31st when the Jets host the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Odds

The Action network lists the Jets as the underdogs in tonight’s matchup.

Winnipeg has struggled mightily in their past two matchups against Montreal and it is understandable why Montreal is the favorite, although Winnipeg has the better record.

Projected Lineups

It is fair to say that most Jets fans would love for the team to make some lineup changes. Although the team has been performing well, Paul Maurice has seldom made lineup changes even after the team has a poor game.

It is projected the Jets may make one change to the lineup, but nothing too major. We could see Jansen Harkins come back into the fold for Nate Thompson, who had a team-low of eight minutes and nineteen seconds of time on ice on Monday.

The Jets defense is projected to remain the same. Although Logan Stanley is listed on the third pair below, there is a chance that Sami Niku may come back into the lineup for him.

Considering the Jets are playing back-to-back games, it is projected that Laurent Brossoit will get the start tonight. This will give Connor Hellebuyck the night off, which means he will get the start tomorrow against Edmonton.

The Jets are projected to lineup like this:

Stastany-Scheifele-Wheeler
Connor-Dubois-Ehlers
Copp-Lowry-Appleton
Perreault-Harkins-Lewis

Morrissey-Poolman
Forbort-Pionk
Stanley-DeMelo

Brossoit (Hellebuyck)

Expect more of the same from the Canadiens tonight. Montreal is not projected to make any changes to their lineup that got the win two nights ago against the Jets.

Carey Price is expected to get the start in goal after picking up a win in his 700th NHL game on Monday.

The Canadiens are expected to lineup like this:

Drouin-Suzuki-Gallagher
Toffoli-Kotkaniemi-Anderson
Tatar-Danault-Armia
Byron-Evans-Perry

Edmundson-Weber
Kulak-Petry
Ouellet-Romanov

Price (Allen)
