Just last weekend, the Winnipeg Jets and Vancouver Cancuks had to postpone their two-game series that was supposed to take place on April 4 and April 6 at Bell MTS Place.

Unfortunately, that series had to be postponed because of the Canucks entering Covid-19 Protocol, and in the days following the situation only got worse for Vancouver. According to the Canucks Website on April 7th:

"25 individuals have tested positive and the source infection is confirmed a variant – full genome sequencing by BCCDC will be required to determine which specific type. Among the 25 positive cases are 21 players (three players from taxi squad) and four members of staff. One additional player is considered a close contact. (Canucks: Team Update)"

Fortunately for Vancouver, they will be returning to action for the first time since March 24th when they lost 5-1 to the Jets. Vancouver’s first game back will be next Friday, April 16th against the Edmonton Oilers.

The Winnipeg Jets have announced the makeup dates for their series against the Vancouver Canucks

Originally the Jets were supposed to end their season on Saturday, May 8 against the Ottawa Senators, but that is no longer the case.

The Jets season will be extended by three extra days, as the series with Vancouver has been tacked on to the end of the schedule.

Winnipeg and Vancouver will be making up these games on back-to-back nights on Monday, May 10th, and Tuesday, May 11th.

Both games for the final series between the Jets and Canucks have a scheduled puck drop for 7:00 p.m. central time.

As of now, the NHL has a targeted end date for the 2021 regular season for May 16. It has still yet to be announced when playoffs will start, but there is a good chance that they will start within the week the season ends.
