Winnipeg Jets Without Dubois and Ehlers for Game One vs. Edmonton
The Winnipeg Jets begin their best-of-seven first round Stanley Cup Playoffs series tonight against the Oilers in Edmonton.
Leading up to today, Winnipeg had three forwards who were questionable for game one including Andrew Copp, Nikolaj Ehlers, and Pierre-Luc Dubois.
Copp was held out of the last game of the regular season and has participated in practice in a non-contact jersey. Ehlers has been out injured for the past couple of weeks but has also returned to practice without contact and Dubois was injured in the Jets’ regular season finale and has been held out of practice in the lead up to this game.
The Winnipeg Jets will be without Pierre-Luc Dubois and Nikolaj Ehlers for tonight’s series opener
After today’s morning skate, Paul Maurice revealed that both Dubois and Ehlers would miss tonight’s clash.
Although this is not the greatest news for the Winnipeg Jets as they will be without two of their star forwards, there is good news for Winnipeg in that Copp was a full participant in practice today and looks good to go for tonight.
The Jets coaching staff did not reveal any other lineup news for tonight’s game but most likely Kristian Vesalinen will be promoted to Winnipeg’s second line with Paul Stastny and Copp to replace Dubois.
Puck drop for tonight’s game is at 8:00 p.m. central time. You can get ready for game one by reading our sites’ full game preview with odds, where to watch the game, and projected lineups by clicking the link here or the link below!
