After their thrilling triple overtime victory in game four of their first round series against the Edmonton Oilers in the early hours of Tuesday morning, the Winnipeg Jets have been playing a waiting game to see who they will be facing off against in the second round of the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Currently, the Toronto Maple Leafs have a three games to two lead over the Montreal Canadiens in their best-of-seven series and the Jets will face the winner of that series. Game six between Toronto and Montreal is tonight with the opening puck drop scheduled for 6:30 p.m. central time.

On Thursday, the Winnipeg Jets returned to practice for the first time since completing the sweep as they begin their preparations for their second round series.

As the Winnipeg Jets return to practice, the lineup remains the same

The Winnipeg Jets have had their full roster available since games three and four of the first round with both Pierre-Luc Dubois and Nikolaj Ehlers returning from injury.

The lines that Winnipeg has used during practice on Thursday and Friday have been the exact same as the lines that were used during both games that clinched the series against the Oilers at Bell MTS Place.

There is no reason for Paul Maurice and the Jets coaching staff to change the lines. The whole roster played outstanding throughout the first round, especially in games three and four.

As the old saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” and there is absolutely no reason for the Jets to make any lineup changes as they head into their next series.

According to Sara Orlesky  (@saraorlesky on Twitter), the Jets were back on the ice today for their third straight day of practice but focused on special teams.
