1. Matt Dumba

The Minnesota Wild have been reluctantly trying to trade Dumba and his $6 million AAV to 2023 salary since the last offseason in anticipation of the Seattle Kraken expansion draft. The Wild have one of the bigger challenges going into the expansion draft with players who have no-movement clauses, or contracts that would be too rich for the Kraken.

Most experts think that Dumba will be one of the defensemen exposed by the team making him a strong trade candidate. Dumba is another player that Jet fans know well from playing against him in the Central division.

He is a right shot defenseman who has good offensive skills, but his numbers are down in the last two seasons primarily due to injuries. If you watched any of the Wild – Golden Knights playoff series it looked like Dumba is back to full health as he played well in both ends of the ice and played with an edge.

On the Jets, Dumba would be a natural to slot in on the right side with Morrissey, and perhaps replace Morrissey on the top power play unit. Plus, Dumba is from Regina, Saskatchewan, so playing for the Jets would be the closest thing for him playing in his hometown!
