Tonight is one of the most anticipated events of the 2021 NHL offseason and is a must-watch event for not only Winnipeg Jets supporters, but all hockey fans!

At 7:00 p.m. central time, the Seattle Kraken will conduct their Expansion Draft as they start assembling their roster for the inaugural NHL season.

During this draft, Seattle will get to select one unprotected player from each franchise, besides the Vegas Golden Knights. In total, Seattle must select at least 14 forwards, nine defensemen, and three goaltenders. You can read the full rules of the draft by clicking the link here.

There is no clear-cut favorite of who the Seattle Kraken will select from the Winnipeg Jets

Each franchise around the NHL submitted their protected list on Saturday and the Jets definitely left some key players from this past season’s roster unprotected. You can find the Jets’ full list of protected and unprotected players by clicking here or the link below this paragraph.

Some are predicting that Dylan DeMelo may be the one Jet that will be drafted while others believe the Kraken will pick Mason Appleton.

With all of this being stated, it looks like all of the Jets’ unprotected players will be in the mix to be the one that gets selected by Kraken General Manager, Ron Francis.

Where to Watch the Expansion Draft

For viewers located in Canada, you can watch the draft on SN, SNO, and TVAS. If you are located in the United States the draft will be available to watch on ESPN2 or you can stream the highly anticipated event on ESPN+.
