The Winnipeg Jets Fifth Round Pick from this past summer’s draft, Dmitri Rashevsky is off to a flying start in the KHL
Coming into this season, Rashevsky was inexperienced in terms of playing in the KHL. In 2020-2021 the winger did appear in nine regular season games and three postseason games for Dynamo Moscow but mostly played in the top Russian junior league and in the second division.
At the start of this season, Rashevsky got a chance to prove his worth in the KHL with Moscow and has impressed many.
In the opening six games of the season, the twenty-year-old has four goals, five assists, a plus-four plus/minus, and is averaging 13:57 of ice time per game. That puts him tied for third in the KHL in points and tied for ninth in the league in goals.
Besides Rashevsky’s outstanding start, Dynamo Moscow is also off to a terrific start as they are one of two undefeated teams in the league and have a 6-0-0 record.
After winning in thrilling 5-4 fashion yesterday against Sibir, the next time Rashevsky and Dynamo will be back in action to keep their unbeaten streak alive is on Tuesday when they face off against Dinamo Riga.
It will be interesting to see how long Rashevsky can keep this scoring pace up for and how he performs over the rest of the season. The twenty-year-old has yet to sign an entry-level contract with the Jets.
