Winnipeg Jets Assign 11 Players to Manitoba Moose; 3 Pending Waivers

Coming into today, we knew the Winnipeg Jets were going to make roster moves considering training camp ends on Saturday and the Manitoba Moose start their training camp today.

The Jets did exactly that today as they assigned 11 players to the Moose and trimmed their training camp roster to 28 players.

The Winnipeg Jets have reassigned eight players outright to the Manitoba Moose while three players have to pass through waivers

The six skaters and two goaltenders who do not have to go through waivers and will be joining the moose are Arvid Holm, Mikhail Berdin, Declan Chisholm, Jeff Malott, Johnathan Kovacevic, Kristian Reichel, Leon Gawanke, and Simon Lundmark.

The three skaters that are reassigned to Manitoba pending waivers are Austin Poganski, Luke Johnson, and Mikey Eyssimont. All three of these forwards joined the Jets as free agents this offseason.

It is interesting to note that eight of the eleven players that were reassigned to the Jets AHL affiliate played in the Jets 3-2 preseason loss yesterday in Vancouver Canucks. You can read our site’s recap of the game by clicking the link here or the “NEXT” link at the bottom of this article.

Currently, the Moose have 28 players on their training camp roster and you can view their roster by clicking here. The Moose will kick off their season on October 16 when they visit Toronto for a two-game series.
