The Winnipeg Jets are finally at the Canada Life Centre for the first time this season as they will have their home opener tonight against the Anaheim Ducks.

Last week, the Jets kicked off their season against the Ducks in Anaheim and it did not go so well for the Jets. Although Winnipeg outshot Anaheim 34-22, they lost 4-1. The Jets lost both the special teams battle and the goaltending duel.

Winnipeg is still looking for their first win of this season and they have a great chance to pick up two points at the Canada Life Centre against the Ducks.

Nikolaj Ehlers and Kyle Connor are two value fantasy picks for the Winnipeg Jets versus the Anaheim Ducks

Here is why Ehlers and Connor are value picks for this evening’s game:

Nikolaj Ehlers

The Jets’ third-leading point scorer from the 2021 regular season, Nikolaj Ehlers has yet to register a point during this season.

Ehlers, who was arguably the Jets MVP of the 2021 season, is not a player who goes cold often and I would expect him to break his cold streak against a team that has allowed a combined eight goals in the past two games.

Especially with Mark Schiefele in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol, the Jets will need Ehlers to step up and help fill the void that Wheeler and Schiefele have left.

Kyle Connor

Kyle Connor is coming into this game after an impressive performance in Minnesota on Tuesday. He had two goals in one assist in just under twenty-four minutes of ice time.

Connor is a player that thrives on home ice as he had 18 goals and 10 assists in 28 games in Winnipeg last year.

The Jets have relied on Connor during their first three games this season and I would expect the same tonight. In the Jets’ first game versus Anaheim this season, Connor had five shots on net and registered a goal.

Connor is a great pick against the Ducks defense who looked shaky in their last outing against the Oilers.
