The Winnipeg Jets had an extremely successful first homestand at the Canada Life Centre. In their first two games of the 2021-2022 regular season in Winnipeg, the Jets went undefeated posting a 2-0-0 record while outscoring the Ducks and Predators eleven-to-five.

But now it is time for the Jets to go back on the road and they will be going back to California, where they started the Jets kicked off the season and did not fair well.

This road trip will span three games and will start tomorrow night (Tuesday, October 26) in Anaheim against the Ducks. Then on Thursday, the Jets will face off against the Kings and on Saturday the Jets will conclude this trip with an afternoon matchup against the Sharks.

The Winnipeg Jets are looking for redemption this road trip

Less than two weeks ago, Winnipeg started their season with three games away from home including two games in California against the Ducks and Sharks.

The Jets did not have their best performance versus the Ducks in their first matchup. Although Winnipeg outshot Anaheim, the Jets lost both the special teams battle and the goaltending duel en route to a 4-1 loss.

Three nights later the Jets played a close contest with the Sharks. The game was tied 2-2 heading into the third period, but San Jose scored two quick goals at the start of the third period en route to a 4-3 victory.

During these games, the Jets struggled on special teams and playing with the lead. In two of the three games during the opening road trip, the Jets had a two-goal lead and ultimately lost the game.

The Jets have yet to win a game on the road this season and have a great chance to pick up some points in California against some struggling teams. Although the Sharks have started the season extremely well, the Ducks and Kings both have started the season sluggish with below .500 records.

To have a successful road trip, the Jets need to fix their issues from their first trip to the West Coast. A good road trip can create some momentum for the Jets as they head into November and into the heart of their season.

After Saturday’s game in San Jose, the Jets will start November with their longest homestand of the season as the Jets will have seven straight games on home ice between November 2 through the 16th.
