The Winnipeg Jets are at the Staples Center tonight for the second game of their three-game California road trip as they take on the Los Angeles Kings. As of right now, tonight’s game is the latest scheduled puck drop for the Jets this season. This game is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. central time.

The Jets are coming into this game after a fun-to-watch game in Anaheim. Winnipeg trailed by a goal in the final two minutes of the game, but Nikolaj Ehlers saved the day as he scored two goals in nineteen seconds to propel the Jets to a 4-3 victory of the Ducks.

The Kings have not had the best of starts to the new season. Although the Kings won their first game of the season, they have yet to win since. Los Angeles is currently on a four-game losing streak and are coming off a two-game mini-series against the Blues in St. Louis. During those two games, the Kings were outscored 10-3 including being shut out on Monday.

The Winnipeg Jets look to keep their winning streak alive when they take on the Anaheim Ducks

The Jets are currently on a three-game winning streak and a four-game point streak and look to keep both of these alive in Los Angeles tonight.

Odds

The Winnipeg Jets come into tonight as the favorites, courtesy of WynnBET.

This was expected considering the recent run of form from both teams. The Jets are heading up the standings while the Kings are in the basement of the Pacific Division.

Projected Lineups

team. 107. . 3-2-1. . Winnipeg Jets.

The biggest news regarding the Jets’ lineup tonight is the potential availability of Blake Wheeler. Wheeler is no longer in the NHL’s COVID Protocol and skated in practice yesterday.

Wheeler has missed the past four games and Paul Maurice has indicated the Wheeler will decide when he is ready to return to game action.

Being that Wheeler has only skated once in the past ten days, it is projected that he will miss out on tonight’s game.

Therefore Winnipeg is projected to use the same skaters as they have had the past three games.

The only change to Winnipeg’s lineup is Eric Comrie will get his first start of the season in goal. Connor Hellebuyck has played every game so far at this early point of the season.

Here’s how the Jets are projected to lineup:

Connor-Dubois-Svechnikov
Stastny-Copp-Ehlers
Harkins-Lowry-Vesalainen
Toninato-Nash

Dillon-Pionk
