Today the Winnipeg Jets start a series of back-to-back games on back-to-back days to end their eight-game road trip. This afternoon, the Jets face off against the Boston Bruins with the opening puck drop set for 2:00 p.m. CT. Then tomorrow, the Jets will be in Pittsburgh to finish their road trip with a matchup against the Penguins.

The Jets come into Boston after dropping their last game 5-2 to the Nashville Predators. The Jets outshot Nashville 38-23, but they could not recover after allowing three unanswered first period goals to the Predators.

On the other hand, Boston won a thrilling game their last time out against the Washington Capitals. The game was tied 3-3 in the final minute of regulation and looked to be headed for overtime, but Charlie McAvoy scored a dramatic goal with 45 seconds left in the game to give the Bruins a 4-3 victory.

The Winnipeg Jets have a tough slate of games ahead of them this weekend

The Bruins have been one of the hottest teams in the NHL throughout January. Thorugh eleven games in 2022, the Bruins have won all but two of these games. Boston will be without Brad Marchand and Anton Blidh for today’s clash.

Then on Sunday, the Jets take on the Penguins who, like the Bruins, have only lost two games this month (8-2-0 record).

Winnipeg Jets Lineup News

The Jets are projected to receive a lineup boost today as Brenden Dillon and Eric Comrie are projected to return after being in the COVID-19 Protocol. Comrie is projected to back up Connor Hellebuyck.

Blake Wheeler is ruled as a game-time decision for today’s game. The Jets’ captain has been out since December 10 with a knee injury and has been practicing with the Jets since January 17.

Odds

This should come as no surprise considering the Bruins’ recent run of form during this month. The Jets have responded well after losing during this road trip and will face a tough test today.

This is the Jets’ first trip to Boston since January 9, 2020. The Bruins won that contest 5-4.
