It has been a long time since the Winnipeg Jets have played a game at the Canada Life Centre. As a matter of fact, the Jets’ last home game was on December 19 when they beat the St. Louis Blues 4-2, but today the Jets are finally back in Winnipeg.

Tonight the Jets host the Flordia Panthers on home ice. The opening puck drop for tonight’s game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. central time.

The Jets had all of their home games up to this point in the month canceled due to the COVID-19 attendance restrictions, therefore the Jets have played their last eight games on the road.

The Winnipeg Jets are looking to snap their losing streak as they return to the Canada Life Centre

The Jets have struggled as of late and have lost their last four games (0-2-2 record) including giving up a two-goal third period lead and losing in a shootout to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday afternoon.

On the other hand, the Panthers come into Winnipeg for their last game of a four-game road trip. Florida has posted a 2-2-0 record on this trip, but they have played extremely well throughout January. Florida has picked up at least a point in nine of their past eleven games this month (8-2-1 record) and currently sit in a tie for first place in the Atlantic Division with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Odds

WynnBET lists the Winnipeg Jets as the underdogs in this evening’s game.

I expect a great effort from the Jets tonight considering they are back on home ice for the first time in over a month.

The Jets are coming into this game after losing by one goal in their past two games, while the Panthers also lost their last time out in Seattle against the Kraken.
