Although the Winnipeg Jets are at full steam ahead during their season, as we look across the globe, Russia’s top-league, the KHL has a break in their season for the 2022 Olympics.

There is only one Jets prospect competing at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, China and that is Nathan Smith, who is representing Team U.S.A. Smith’s deservedly got the call up to U.S.A.’s roster, but there is another Winnipeg prospect that is having a terrific season up to this point.

That prospect is Dmitri Rashvesky, who was drafted by the Jets as the 146th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

Through 48 regular season games, Winnipeg Jets prospect, Dmitri Rashvesky is playing well for Dynamo Moscow

The twenty-one-year-old Rashvesky is playing in his first full season in the KHL after only playing nine games in the top Russian league during the 2020-2021 season.

Rashvesky has shown his goal scoring prowess this season as he already has 19 goals this season in under 50 games.

But the six-foot-one-inch left winger is also a dual-threat who can provide a timely assist. He has sixteen assists for a total of 35 points, which currently ranks him third on his team in points.

The young forward is leading his team in one statistical category and that is plus/minus. Rashvesky has a plus-14 plus/minus and also ranks among the top twenty players in the KHL with this rating.

At this point in the later stages of the 56-game season, Rashvesky has been consistent throughout the whole season which is a trait we have seen young players struggle with at the professional level. It will be fun to watch Rashvesky during the final stretch of the season and playoffs.

There is still a couple of weeks before will see Rashvesky and Dynamo Moscow back on the ice again. They kick off the final leg of their season on February 22 and they will play that game and seven more before playoffs again.
