The Winnipeg Jets open up February with a matchup against the Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Tonight’s opening puck drop is set for 6:00 p.m. central time.

Both the Jets and the Flyers are coming into this game after picking up much needed wins their last time out. On Saturday, the Jets ended a five-game losing streak as they beat the St. Louis Blues 4-1.

Also, the Flyers ended their franchise record setting thirteen-game losing streak last Saturday night when they beat the Kings 4-3 in overtime on home ice. That was the Flyers’ first win since December 29 and their first win of 2022.

After tonight’s game, both the Winnipeg Jets and Philadephia Flyers will go on break for the All-Star game

Tonight is the Jets’ 42nd game of this regular season, which means they are officially into the second half of the season. Two points tonight are crucial for the Jets considering that their first five games after the All-Star break are against Central Division opponents.

Odds

WynnBET lists the Winnipeg Jets as the favorites in this game. Both teams are looking to build on their performances from their last games and will look to go into the break on a winning streak.

This is also the first time these sides have met this season. The Jets are expected to get a lineup boost this evening as both Josh Morrissey and Dylan DeMelo may play tonight after practicing yesterday. Out of these two players, it looks more likely that Morrissey will play.

It will be interesting to see who Dave Lowry names as the Jets’ starting goalie this evening. Eric Comrie made his first appearance since December 10 on Saturday and played outstanding as he made 28 saves on 29 shots and picked up the win. On the other hand, Hellebuyck is winless in his last six starts.
