The Winnipeg Jets will return from the All-Star break tomorrow night (February 8) as they host the Minnesota Wild at the Canada Life Centre and start their final forty games of the 2021-2022 regular season.

The Jets have played below expectations during the first half of the season and currently sit in sixth place in the Central Division with 43 points in 42 games. This puts the Jets 16 points behind a Central Division playoff spot and they also trail the Western Conference second Wild Card playoff spot by nine points.

The Winnipeg Jets have a great opportunity to make up some ground in the Central Division this upcoming week

From February eighth through the sixteenth, the Jets will have five games including three on home ice and two on the road. The one thing in common about all five of these games is they are against Divisional opponents.

The Jets will play start this run of games at the Canada Life Centre versus the Wild (2/8) and will play in front of a 50% capacity crowd. Then on February eleventh and twelfth, the Jets will face a two-game road trip of back-to-back games when they head to Dallas on Friday night and then faceoff against Nashville on Saturday. Finally, the Jets will end this span of games against divisional foes with two contests on home ice as they host the Blackhawks on the fourteenth and then Minnesota on the sixteenth.

The Wild, Stars, and Predators all sit ahead of the Jets in the Standings with the Wild in third place, the Stars in fifth, and the Predators in second.

This week provides the Jets an opportunity to start their tough climb out of sixth place and up the division ladder. Although there are forty games remaining in the season, the Jets need to start their postseason push now if they have hopes of making the playoffs.
