Since the trade, the Jets made the 2021 postseason, while Columbus missed out. Currently this year, Winnipeg is sitting just outside of the Western Conference Wild Card playoff spots and Columbus is trailing the Eastern Conference Wild Card by 13 points. This article will look at the individual stats of all three players involved in the trade.

Both Dubois and Laine have comparable stats for their respective teams since the trade between the Winnipeg Jets and Columbus Blue Jackets

Many people would not have guessed that the player out of these three players, the player that had the most productive 2021 regular season would be Roslovic.

Roslovic had 34 points in 48 games (12 goals, 22 assists) during the 2021 season compared to the 21 points Laine (10 goals, 11 assists) had and the 20 points (8 goals, 12 assists) Dubois amassed.

One eye-opening stat from this season was plus/minus. Not one of these players had an even or a positive plus/minus rating. Dubois was the best among the bunch with a minus-six, then Roslovic with a minus-11, and finally Laine with an abysmal minus-29 rating.

The 2021-2022 Season has Been Better for both Dubois and Laine

Both Laine and Dubois have found a way to put their dreadful 2021 seasons behind them and have found their goal-scoring touch in their second year with their respective teams.

Both players have comparable numbers this season, although Laine has played nineteen fewer games than Dubois, due to missing some time with an injury.

Laine is currently the Blue Jackets’ leader in goals and points at this point in the season. The twenty-three-year-old has 25 goals, 23 assists for 48 points, and a minus-three plus/minus in 45 games this season.

Likewise, Dubois is also playing well this season as he has 25 goals, 25 assists, and a plus-two plus/minus in 64 games. Dubois has also well eclipsed his career high for penalty minutes in a season. During this campaign, the Quebec native has 90 penalty minutes.

Roslovic is also keeping the trend with these two players and is also having a good season statically. In 63 games he has 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points, and a minus-one rating.

It is also interesting to note that all three of the players that were involved in this trade are due to be restricted free agents this upcoming offseason.

With that being stated, it is still way too early to tell who won this trade. It will be interesting to see what happens in free agency regarding these three forwards and what the Jets will do with the third-round draft pick that they acquired in this trade.

Regardless of all this, tonight should be an extremely fun game to watch between the Jets and Blue Jackets.
