Although the Winnipeg Jets just started a four-game homestand on Tuesday night, that homestand comes to a close tonight as the Jets face off against the Arizona Coyotes tonight at the Canada Life Centre. The game is set to just after 6:00 p.m. central time.
The Jets have won two out of their three prior games during this homestand including winning in overtime versus the Columbus Blue Jackets in their last game. A win versus the Coyotes this evening would cap off a successful homestand for the Jets and give them six of a possible eight points from this run of games.
These two points are crucial for Winnipeg as they are in a five-team race for the Western Conference Wild Card playoff spots. The Jets have amassed 72 points from 66 games played which places them in fifth place in this race.
Nashville holds the top Wild Card playoff spot with 78 points from 65 games played. In second is Vegas as they sit on 76 points in 68 games played. Although the Stars are in third, they have the least amount of games played (64) among these teams and they have 75 points. Vancouver is now in fourth with 73 points in 67 games.
The Winnipeg Jets look to keep the Arizona Coyotes on their losing streak
Today is the first game of back-to-back away games for the Coyotes. Tomorrow night, the Coyotes will be taking on the Oilers in Edmonton.
Last time out, the Coyotes lost to the Calgary Flames 4-2 away from home on Friday night. Arizona had a terrific start to March winning six of their first seven games of the month, but have drastically cooled off since the midway point of the Month. With Friday’s loss, they are on a four-game losing streak.

This is the fourth and final time the Jets and Coyotes will meet during this regular season and the sides have played some close games this year.
The Jets are currently leading the season series with a 2-1-0 record and both of their wins had a winning margin of two goals and they scored an empty-net goal in both of those games. Arizona’s lone win over Winnipeg was a 1-0 shutout in late November. Karl Veijmelka posted an extremely impressive 46 save shutout on the road in that game.
