After playing their last four games at the Canada Life Centre and playing six out of their last seven games on home ice, the Winnipeg Jets are back on the road for a quick two-game road trip featuring back-to-back games on back-to-back nights.

Tonight the Jets begin this trip with a matchup against the Buffalo Sabres at the KeyBank Center that is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. central time. Then tomorrow, the Jets will head North to take on the Maple Leafs in Toronto.

The Jets are coming into this game after a successful homestand. They won three of their four home games including winning their two most recent games in overtime against the Columbus Blue Jackets and Arizona Coyotes.

The Winnipeg Jets take on the Buffalo Sabres who are on a multi-game point streak

The Sabres have been playing great hockey as of late and are currently on a six-game point streak and have won six of their last nine games.

During these past nine games, Buffalo has beaten the likes of Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Pittsburgh, and Chicago. They have lost two overtime games to Washington and New York. Their only regulation loss during this run was back on March 17 against the Edmonton Oilers.

Odds

WynnBET lists the Winnipeg Jets as the favorites over the Sabres in tonight’s matchup.

These two points on the line are crucial for the Jets to keep pace in the Western Conference Wild Card race and it will be no easy task for the Jets. As shown above, the Sabres have been extremely tough to beat as of late and have beaten many teams that are in playoff position.

It is interesting to note that the Jets are 7-3-1 in their first game of a road trip, but have a 13-12-8 road record.

Winnipeg and Buffalo have met once before this season. The Sabres beat the Jets 4-2 on December 14, 2021, which was Paul Maurice’s last game as Jets head coach before resigning a couple of days later.

Since the Jets and Sabres are in different conferences and they have already played once this season, tonight is the final regular season game between these sides.
